Ships - Back to ships list
Summary
The Appledore IV is the green thumb of all the tall ships at the festival this year! During the regular three-and-a-half-hour excursions in its homeport, visitors will find themselves surrounded by activities that take a closer look at sea plants, water, and plankton. The mission of the Appledore IV is to create awareness of our precious environment focusing on mainly the Saginaw Bay and Great Lakes region. The ship has drawn over 30,000 K-12 students in all its Science Under the Sails programs. This year Science Under Sail program is sure to keep environmental enthusiasts on their toes at the Festival in 2010.
